Use what you have until you’re ushered into your next

Use what you have until you’re ushered into your next

Okay, I’m back again.

Apparently, these “cute little ramblings” of mine are stirring something in folks—---so when I have the time, I’ll keep sharing more of them here.
While reflecting last night, I found myself thinking about how fast this year is moving… and then I realized this whole decade is slipping right through my fingers.
Sometimes I’m so focused on what’s next, I forget to just sit still in gratitude.

I had to whisper to myself:
“Use what you have until you’re ushered into your next.”
We’re always asking for more.
More opportunities.
More money.
More friends.
More love.
More shoes.
More stuff.
Just… more.

But what if we paused to recalibrate, recenter, and really evaluate all that we already have?
As an artist, I was born to create. Some days I can't sleep if I don't.
But I’m always busying myself with new projects, future collaborations, and chasing the next idea.

And truth be told, there’s already plenty of me to manage right where I am.
The economy is… well, weird (that’s the best way I can describe it right now).
Politics are tugging at our hearts. And I truly believe God is calling us to become better managers—of our time, our energy, our talents, our relationships, and even our prayers.
This year will demand more mindfulness from us: how we spend, how we show up, and how we steward what’s already in our hands.
I think back to quarantine, and how simple joys, like a trip to Publix or Kroger brought real happiness.

Once life went “back to normal,” the store became a chore. Family time got replaced by quick calls. I ate dinner in the car. TV became my escape.

And then one day I caught myself and said:
“Let me remember what I used to be grateful for. Let me slow down and re-appreciate all of it.” So while I’m still preparing and praying for “more,” I’m deeply grateful and content with my now.

As you move through your career, your calling, your goals:
-Remember why you started.
-Remember why you’re choosing to stay.
- Remember what really brings you joy.

Welllllllll… that’s my 11 cents this time (lol).
I hope this reaches the right dreamer.
