The Power of the Right People: Building a Strong Creative Team and Community Support

Discover the power of having the right people in your corner. Learn how a strong creative team, community support, and aligned relationships can elevate your success and protect your vision.

People ask me all the time how I do what I do and how I keep going. It has certainly been NO easy feat, but God has always sent me the right people. I may be the artist, but I have never been alone.

This mural, this moment, this level of impact, it took a village. And one of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my journey as an artist and entrepreneur is that success is not just about talent, it is about alignment. It is about having the right people around you at the right time. It is about having people who get YOU and want to see you win no matter what. They remind you of your purpose, then they help you protect it at all costs.

I would be here all day recounting the people and moments that made this mural even possible, but I have to take a moment to really spotlight a few. My friend Josh from Plant Zaddy showed up one day and never left my side. No agenda, no spotlight, just steady, present, and consistent. That kind of support matters more than people realize. Marcus, my manager and attorney, stepped in and protected me and my business when everything started moving fast. When opportunities grow, things can get overwhelming quickly, and having someone who understands how to cover you legally and strategically is essential.

Portia Bruner spoke her involvement into existence before it even happened. She said she would paint with me one day, and then she showed up and did exactly that. That level of belief, not just in yourself but from others, is powerful. It reinforces that you are walking in alignment.

And then there was the community.

People pulled up. They supported. They watched. They shared. They encouraged. They believed in the vision and wanted to be a part of it. Even the Home Depot managers extended grace, support, and resources to help bring the mural to life. Those moments reminded me that community support is a key part of any large-scale creative project.

That’s when it really hit me.

You can have the vision, the talent, and the drive, but the right people will help you execute it at a higher level. They don’t just add to your work, they multiply it. They protect it. They help you carry it when the weight gets heavy.

There is real power in having a strong creative team and supportive community.

As your platform grows, who you have around you matters even more. You need people who are aligned with your values, people who understand your vision, and people who are willing to show up when it counts. Not just when it is easy, but when it requires time, energy, and commitment.

I’ve learned to be intentional about my circle. To choose people who bring peace, clarity, and strength into my life and my work. And just as important, to honor the people who show up when it matters most.

Because the truth is, the right people are not случайно placed in your life.

They are sent.

And when you recognize that, you move differently. You collaborate differently. You build differently.

So as you grow in your career, your creativity, and your purpose, do not try to do it all alone. Build your team. Nurture your relationships. Stay open to community. Because the right people will help you go further than you ever could by yourself.
